On May 5th, 7th CD Republican candidate for Congress Michael Alfonso told the baldfaced lie that his opponent Fred Clark, who is an experienced hunter and gun owner, hates the Second Amendment. In the ensuing Facebook exchange below, Alfonso agreed to a public debate with Clark. After text messages between the candidates, Clark campaign staff reached out to Alfonso staff to schedule the debate.

After weeks of unreturned calls and text messages, Clark publicly called on Alfonso to step up. Now many weeks later, it seems clear that Alfonso is backing down from honoring his commitment to a public debate on the issues facing Northern Wisconsin families. So now it’s up to the voters of Wisconsin to call on him to come out of hiding.
